SKYLIGHT

I sleep beneath a skylight.
And look up at the skies.
Raindrops, stars and snowflakes
Cannot escape my eyes.

I sleep beneath a blanket
To keep my body snug.
Yet stolen are my covers
Without the slightest tug.

The moonlight beckons to me.
My thoughts begin to flow.
Infinity confronts me
Within the midnight glow.

My eyelids are my curtains
When reality's too bright
But sleeping 'neath a skylight
One can't deny the night.
