The 2 poles closest to Sherry are freshly cut poles 1" to 1.25" in diameter.  The other 3 are dried poles with diameters from left to right of approximately 1.5", 2", 3". We have some larger diameter 4", 5" or 6" poles and black bamboo poles from 1/2" to 1 7/8" diameters - other sizes are available by special order. Please call or email for current availability and prices.
Like all lumber, the diameters of the dried poles are up to ½"less than the named measurements at the base, and unlike lumber, bamboo canes usually are smaller at the top than at their base.
If you don't see the size you need please call 352.429.2425 or Email  and we can probably cut the exact size you want from the bamboo groves.

Bamboo poles are naturally subject to developing some cracks over time depending on temperature and humidity. Small cracks generally do not affect the integrity or beauty of the canes. Some poles with more cracks are available at half price or less as shown below - many are still fine to use as is, or they can be split lengthwise on a table saw and used to make beautiful half rounds for trim or frames as in the photo above.

These poles may have some curved portions and may not be as straight as the dried poles in the photo at the top of the page. Also, recently cut canes may be green but in a few months will turn a rich tan color.
